Interview is the final stage of the Civil Service Exam. Candidates who got selected for the interview are usually 2.2 times the vacancies notified.
The maximum marks for the interview is 275, a score over 200+ is considered as a high score. The entire process of the interview plays a crucial role in deciding the rank of the aspirants. The primary objective behind the interview is to test the personality, which includes decision making, logical thinking, analytical ability of the candidate.
In broad terms, this is really an assessment of not only his/her intellectual qualities but also social traits and interest in the current affairs. Some of the qualities like balance of judgment, leadership, emotional intelligence are assessed by posing a situation based questions to the candidate.

For the interview, students should start their preparations as early as possible without waiting for the Civil Services Mains Exam Result.
Walk through your DAF:
Your Detailed Application Form speaks for you in front of the board members when you are waiting for your turn for the personality test.
Since they have no prior knowledge of the candidate, DAF alone sets the tone for the personality test. The DAF gives an insight about the candidate and hence paves a way for questions from their side.
Positive Attitude:
Since there exist the extremes in the marking during the interview process you can score 200+ within 5 minutes and also 100 in one hour. It is clear that the time taken has nothing to do with the marks scored by any candidate. Traits such as confidence, humility, optimism, integrity plays a great role in the personality test.
Candidates should make sure that they stay positive throughout the interview.
Dress Code:
Wearing a comfortable dress which will make and keep you confident. Gents should wear a light coloured shirt and dark pants, Saree/Chudidar is for ladies.
Documents to be submitted:
• Certificates of Class X, XII, Graduation etc.
• Reservation/Category proving certificates.
• ID card.
• Physically handicapped certificate Performa if applicable.
